Sharpie was Mom’s first suggestion too, and it would probably be a lot less work, but we both preferred the idea of embroidery once I suggested it. For one thing, it will be more permanent; for another, it will match the look of the rest of the work better. (It also hearkens back to a quilt Granny once made, on which she had every family member then living sign a quilt block each and embroidered their signatures.)
