Home stretch — completed!

And with that, I’ve gone from “I never embroidered anything” to “I made this” in one week. All states Acorn or I have visited (not including drive-throughs) are outlined.

After this, I’ll be embellishing the map to show cities we’ve visited, road trips taken, and where loved ones live.
This is a blanket I knit years ago for Acorn. Then it developed a hole where several seams along blocks came undone, and it's been in my craft closet waiting to be fixed ever since. Last night, I fixed it. I hope this is a nice surprise when he gets home Thursday!

It was originally meant to fit the twin bed he had then, but I based the measurements on the first block I made, forgetting how much handknit cotton grows. This is a double bed, and it could easily fit a queen. It weighs 13-15 lbs, as best I can tell from my bathroom scale.

Knitting details: mitred blocks, triple-stranded dishcloth cotton. Intended to be a heavy blanket to achieve a "weighted blanket" effect, which it does. Total of 80 blocks.
