Craftember?

Considering making September my craft-a-day month, a la what Laridian is doing with August.

Caveats:

Showing progress counts, not just finished objects. Otherwise this is going nowhere for me.
My knit blanket squares aren’t as visually interesting as her state quilt blocks, but they probably take as long to produce.
I knit a patchwork heavy blanket for Acorn several years back. This time, I’ve decided it’s my turn. His was all in shades of blue, with occasional highlights of other colors; mine will be all the colors I have left over, with navy sashing between the squares to join them together (which will probably be a PITA to knit, but I’ll find out!)

First two squares:

This is a blanket I knit years ago for Acorn. Then it developed a hole where several seams along blocks came undone, and it's been in my craft closet waiting to be fixed ever since. Last night, I fixed it. I hope this is a nice surprise when he gets home Thursday!

It was originally meant to fit the twin bed he had then, but I based the measurements on the first block I made, forgetting how much handknit cotton grows. This is a double bed, and it could easily fit a queen. It weighs 13-15 lbs, as best I can tell from my bathroom scale.

Knitting details: mitred blocks, triple-stranded dishcloth cotton. Intended to be a heavy blanket to achieve a "weighted blanket" effect, which it does. Total of 80 blocks.
